Program Design

A moment of reflection:

Employee Communication and coaching taught me the frameworks and tools needed to develop an effective coaching strategy for an organization. Program design was a transformation course dedicated to learning the various methods/systems of program design. One system I use frequently is the SAM model.

Program Evaluation

Technology in Learning

A moment of reflection:

Program Evaluation helps evaluate learning programs. This course improved our workplace orientation program. Technology in Learning provided a catalog of technology resources for learning and development, as well as best practices for implementing technology in training.

Needs Assessment

Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies

A moment of reflection:

Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies were instrumental in opening my eyes to how technology can be introduced into the classroom both in-person and virtually effectively while being mindful of audience diverse learning needs. Needs assessment taught me how to have an effective conversation on the learning needs of specific groups of people, whether that be employees of an organization or a target audience.

Diversity & Accomodation

A moment of reflection:

Adult Learners explores the foundations of adult learning principles, essentially how adults learn, and the strategies we as trainers can use to ensure retention of learning. This course was foundational in my profession and I use the concepts daily. Diversity and accommodation, while something I was consistently mindful of in my profession helped educate me on new techniques I could introduce into the classroom before and after training.

Facilitation & Instruction

Applied Project

A final reflection:

Entering the final year of the program was both exciting and anxiety-inducing. I am consistently on the hunt for continuous learning and networking, which support me and others. Ironically, completing Facilitation & Instruction as my last core course was a confirmation of how far I have grown over the past 5 years in the program. The course provided me with reminders on keeping the learner experience top of mind and how our world of training has evolved digitally.

Finally, completing the Applied Project course has been an overwhelming experience of reflection and accomplishment. I am grateful to have shared this program with my peers and look forward to continuing my education and most importantly the connections I have built.
